August Memories
As we continue to be almost ‘confined to barracks’ during the Covid Pandemic we are not able to meet and walk, talk and take a little light refreshment so I am taking the opportunity to look back and revive a few memories from the months of August from 2002 to 2012.

August 2002 Buckden, Cray, Hubberholme.
Pub: White Lion at Cray.
Led By John P.
Quoting from John’s notes for the walk:
“It doesn’t seem like it but this is our 10th anniversary. Sometimes it seems remarkable that we are still going strong, particularly as the first three walks were done in very inclement weather, and the fourth was abandoned because of very heavy rain.
In celebration I thought it would be a good idea to repeat the first walk through wonderful limestone country. This time the other way round and, as with the first few walks, we will stop at the pub two thirds of the way round.”

August 2005 In the Footsteps of Black Dick.
Pub: Hare & Hounds, Hopton
Led by Roger, six miles through fields and lanes around the rural valley of Rods Beck near Lepton. The photo was taken at Lascelles Hall cricket field.

August 2006 Holme Moss to Holme Village
