Thurstonland Revisited
The sun came out after lunch!
Meet: 10.15 for 10.30am at Hollowgate, Thurstonland, HD4 6XU.
Best approached via A629, south from Huddersfield. In about 4 miles, turn off right and pass through Thunderbridge and Stocksmoor to Thurstonland. Pass the Rose and Crown and park in 100 yards where the road is wider.
The Walk: Gently undulating walk of four miles, mainly along field paths to Farnley Tyas and back. A few stiles along the way, nothing too dramatic. We’ve walked most of these before but not necessarily in the same order.
The Pub: The Rose and Crown
There are always six real ales to choose from as well as a selection of lagers, ciders, wines & soft drinks. Also a varied lunch menu. Orders taken at the start.
